This public art commission is open to all artists, artisans, or artist-led teams that live and work in the State of Illinois. Three eligible artists/teams will be selected and paid a fee of $4500 to develop and present a site-specific proposal. The budget for the project is $378,000.00.

Deadline is January 10, 2024 at 4:30 P.M.

Project Summary
The Health Science Building is a new 221,000 square foot instruction and research building for the Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville. To reflect the progressive science within the building, the architecture of this project is modern and contemporary, and its character is grounded as a contextual response to the notable landscape and architecture of the main campus. The design of the project is driven by two basic themes: creating a science and teaching community through connectivity and enabling wellness through a strong connection to the natural order.
