IACA Announces CARES ACT Grant Awards

The Illinois Arts Council is pleased to share the list of organizations awarded CARES Act Emergency Relief Funds awarded in June 2020. The Illinois Arts Council Agency funded 189 organizations totaling $534,400. Additionally, 30 organizations were awarded $87,739 in CARES Act Emergency Relief Funds from Arts Midwest. Below is a list of the Illinois Arts Council Agency’s grants as well as the Arts Midwest grants. Both are listed in alphabetical order according to the counties and cities in which they are located.

Governor J.B. Pritzker and Chairman Shirley R. Madigan are pleased to announce the first round of fiscal year 2021 grants awarded by the Illinois Arts Council Agency. In September the Illinois Arts Council Agency Board unanimously approved 769 grants, totaling $ 8,960,030. They are listed below in alphabetical order according to the counties and cities in which they are located.

IACA Announces the Passing of Former Executive Director Terry Scrogum

Terry A. Scrogum, former Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) Executive Director and Board Member, passed away this week.

Terry departed the Illinois Arts Council Agency in March 2012, after 7 years as Executive Director and 13 years of service on the Board.  He was an instrumental part of the IACA team and the arts community in Illinois.

IACA Announces FY20 Ethnic & Folk Arts Master/Apprentice Program Awardees

The Illinois Arts Council Agency (IACA) is pleased to announce the recipients of the fiscal year 2020 Ethnic and Folk Arts Master/Apprentice Program (MAP). Twelve master artists are recognized with awards of $3,000 each to instruct their chosen apprentices through intensive one-on-one sessions. MAP acknowledges the need for structured opportunities to pass on traditional, folk, and classical ethnic arts as part of the preservation of Illinois’ cultural heritage. MAP is made possible with an award from the National Endowment for the Arts.
