October 27th Deadline for Professional Development, Project Support - NOTE NEW DEADLINE
Illinois -- The Fiscal Year 2012 guidelines and application for the Illinois Arts Council's Individual Artist Support (IAS) program are now available. Individual Artist Support funds will help Illinois artists realize career goals, take advantage of professional opportunities, and/or produce projects or bodies of work for public viewing.
The Individual Artist Support (IAS) program was developed to bridge the gap left by the suspension of the Artist Fellowship and Special Assistance Grant Programs due to reductions on the IAC budget. The IAS program represents the Arts Council's commitment to continuing to support the work of individual artists.
"The Illinois Arts Council recognizes that individual artists are the keystone to the creation of art," says Shirley R. Madigan, Illinois Arts Council Chairman. "The Artist Fellowship Program had continuously provided fellowships to Illinois creative artists for more than twenty years, and the Council remains committed to individual artists despite diminishing resources."
Guidelines are available online at http://www.arts.illinois.gov/Individual%20Artist%20Support
